1871-Now What?

In 1871, the first of the numbered treaties were signed, which we will talk about much more as the course goes on. British Columbia joins Canada, but only after a promise has been made, and all the the HBC land is now in Canada's hand.

Looking at the map and knowing that land agreements are being signed with the 1st Nations, what is Canada now poised to do?

Before we go on, lets start our timeline of Canada. Using Timeline 3d, put in the following dates. For each date, be sure to have a picture and information. To open Timeline 3d, go to your applications folder or do a search for it under the magnifying glass on the top right hand corner.

B.C. joining Canada
Number 1 Treaty being signed
Charlottetown Conference
The Red River Settlement being measured up by Canada
