Negotiating Treaties

In your treaty group from the last class, go to the links and examine the differences from Treaty 1 to Treaty 2 to Treaty 3.

-On the back of your group paper, write some of the interesting things that were to be provided to the indigenous people.

Treaties

First there were the Friendship treaties. The Bison roamed the prairies, the european settlers were still new to the land and needed help to survive. The Peguis-Selkirk treaty is below.  Then came the numbered treaties, when the country Canada existed and wanted to make room for European settlers.
